August 2020 Issue of the Newsletter now out!

Dear Reader,

Greetings from Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR), Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.

We hope that you and your loved ones continue to remain well and safe.

The Eighth Issue of the Second Volume of the CADR Newsletter is now out.

It has been a largely positive month in the world of ADR, the raging pandemic notwithstanding. An Australian Court enforced an arbitration award from the People’s Republic of China, South Africa published its draft International Arbitration Rules under its 2017 Act and the Swiss Parliament approved new rules to govern arbitration of corporate law disputes.

Additionally, Ethiopia has become the latest country to accede to the New York Convention, the European Union released a proposal for Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) modernization among other happenings. All this, and more in the Newsletter!

It’s been a busy month for us at CADR too, as we continue serving the ADR Community with events and research. CADR organized a number of Capacity Building Sessions for students of RGNUL. Additionally, we were fortunate to organize an International Webinar on Mediation on September 1-2, 2020.

September promises to be an equally exciting month with a Panel Discussion on the Interface Between Arbitration and Mediation vis-à-vis the Singapore Convention, more webinars and much more in the works. Follow this space for details!

Each volume follows a vigorous process of compilation and is vetted twice – including by industry professionals. For more information on how we create the Newsletter, you may check our Note

The Newsletter initiative began with the observation that there exists a lacuna in the provision of information relating to ADR to the practicing community, and we wanted to provide a solution to the same. In keeping with that, we are glad to have many practitioners and students subscribe to the Newsletter and the Blog after the launch of the first issue.

To subscribe to the CADR Newsletter, you may send us an email at adrc@rgnul.ac.in. Additionally, you may subscribe to the CADR Blog via our homepage and you will receive a notification whenever we launch a volume of the Newsletter.

As always, we await with bated breath for your feedback on our Newsletter. We hope to hear from you soon!

For any other query, please feel free to contact us. For more information about our activities, please follow/like us on Instagram, FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and our Blog.

Regards,
Aditya Mathur,
